Symmetry

 

We have been doing Symmetry in maths. This is some of my work. I worked with some friends to do this and we had do do different types of symmetry. Symmetry is when objects fit in with each other or they are the exact same as each other. 

Maths

 We have been learning about different ways of how to multiply squares and make them have a certain amounts. we got given pictures of number one, two and three and we had to look at how many squares there were. Then we figured out how they correlate to each other. So we had to find that for numbers up to fifty.

Constructive building

 Today we made shapes using our constructive skills. There were multiple choices of what shape you could do. I did a pentagonal star pyramid. All of us learnt how to construct stuff with the resources we have.

 

Polygons

 

This is a picture of my understanding of polygons. As you can see I have sorted these shapes into the correct boxes. The shape in the Not Polygons box that looks like a sand timer is actually a complex polygon but in this case we are just doing normal polygons. A polygon is a shape the has only strait lines and they don't bend. A non polygon has curved lines and that means it cant be a polygon. A polygon has to be a connected line, it cant be a loose end. It also cant be a circle because that has a bend all the way round.

The World Is Ending (pt.1)

 The World Is Ending

One seemingly normal and clear day I was sitting in my room playing Minecraft  on my PS5 PRO then Ezekiel and Brandon said “come with us”. So they took me into the forest and into a tree said “we need to stay here” and then I saw a person through the window and they were holding a gun, I quietly whispered “We need to leave, because there is a guy climbing up the ladder.” We all hid on the roof and then I smashed down the roof and stole his gun then I shot him in the face throwing him out the window. “So now we are wanted great.. “What do we do now?”

We ran, `` I replied.

Chapter 2. The Wanted Ones

We ran to our house and there was someone in our house taking our stuff! I slowly walked into the kitchen and saw two dead bodies. It was mum and dad. I got a knife and ran to the person in our house. I jumped on him and stabbed the knife into his neck.

“Wait- my name is Kaedyn. Don’t kill me!” I got off him and he gave me the bag. 

We took all we could and ran. We built a shelter and stayed there for the night. At exactly 12:00.am I heard a rustle in the bush outside. I woke everybody up. We walked outside and saw a little dog. It was limping. It wanted us to follow him. We all got up and followed this strange scruffy tiny dog to a broken down hotel. Inside was a boy with a cut leg. He said “The bombings, they happened two days ago and I was forced away from my family. My name is Carter.” Brandon pulled out his knife and said “We should eat the dog.” Carter stood up and limped over to him with a handgun to his head saying “That dog is the only thing keeping me alive. It was well trained and does everything that I tell him.” Brandon said we should still eat it. Carter told Poppy (the dog's name) “Fire a warning laser at his shoe.” Poppy zapped him on the foot and it started to steam. 

Chapter 3. New Recruits 

We have got seven people including the dog, six without the dog and we are slowly mov- BANG CRASH BOOM!!! Down came some air force ships and it looked like they were shooting something. Maybe another ship or something on the ground. We ran into the hotel and hid there for a bit. The ground was shaking and bits were falling from the roof so we decided to leave and ran into another building. But it was broken and crumbled one hit and it would fall. Some ship hit the building and it started to fall. We sprinted to the edge of the city. We ran into the forest and we saw a road. We walked along the road and saw a bus on the side of the road. It was parked next to a big tree. As we got closer we saw that the tree was somehow on top of it. We ran to it because we saw some people inside. Halfway between us and the bus an alien dropped off his ship. It crashed into the tree and split it in half. We ran back into the forest after a bit of walking and we found a clearing. We saw a girl sleeping on a log then woke her up. Her name was Maria. She was the same age as me… 14 But I was older by 2 months. 

Chapter 4: The Volunteer

So now we had 4 new people and in total we have 11 people and food supplies were running low. Everyone knew that there had to be a sacrifice but they were all too scared. Ezekiel manned up and said “I'll chop off my arm to feed the group.” He grabbed a knife and put his arm on a log. He hesitated but with a swing of the machete he chopped off his arm. Maria instantly bandaged it up and put pressure on it. I got a lighter out of my backpack and cauterized the end. Ezekiel started crying when he saw it. We started cooking it and we ate it. We gave the hand to Ezekiel. After dinner we went to sleep but Maria got scared because she heard a noise and woke me up. She shook the pile of leaves I was sleeping in. “JAMES JAMES WAKE UP!!! There was a noise in the forest! Get everyone up.'' We got them up and moved out. On the way to our next spot kayden heard something in the woods next to us on the right. He walked in and instantly ran out screaming. “RUN, RUN!!!!” We all ran in confusion and he said “we are getting chased!” A giant alien was thumping and crashing behind us. Kayden tripped onto Carter. As Carter was falling he said get Brandon but he meant to say ‘get me Brandon!’ Carter's dog chased Brandon but before Carter could say stop but Carter got taken by the alien. Poppy chased brandon down. When I looked back the alien had a dead kayden in his mouth. Poppy jumped on Brandon and took him down. (By this time the alien was gone). She started biting Brandon. “Poppy stop.” I told her She stopped and ran to me. I told her “you're doing it wrong.” I taught her how to kill him and she ran to him and bit his head off. And brought it to me like a dog with a ball. She dragged the corpse with her and gave it to me. I threw him over my back and carried him the rest of the way, but there was something weird about his body, his blood and flesh was a weird colour. We found a good spot and I started a fire. We cooked some wild boar meat that we found and ate it, after that traumatic event we went to sleep awaiting the next day… 

Chapter 5: The Yard!

We woke up to the sound of birds chirping, wind blowing and a sunny day. I said “are we in heaven?”  

All of a sudden a plane dropped from the sky. “Well that ruined the cinematic butifulness.” I said. 

Along came an alien spaceship and it landed next to us. We ran and someone emerged from the door. It was… BRANDON!? “ How- when- what the heck happened to you?”

“We thought you died”  I said. We had a long talk about what had happened. Then we got some food and kept on talking. It was late we were walking to find a new location when I thought I saw a bus in the river next to the bridge we were on. I walked to the edge to find the bus had gone off the side and crashed into the water. I got the others over and Maria saw some people inside. I dove in and tried to break the window. I saw one of the geastering for me to get out of the water. I went up for a breath and came back down. Then I saw it a giant 150 foot shark swimming elegantly underneath me. I thought of one thing to get it away. Boar meat. I got out of the water and squelched to find them with some boar meat. They had the same idea as me. Maria tied a knot around my waist and I jumped in with a giant piece of bloody boar meat. “Don't get hurt.”

Carter said worryingly. “I’ll try not to.” I jokingly said. I dove in with the meat and the shark jolted towards me. I threw the meat but it was going slow and it was near me. The shark came straight for the meat. CHOMP:!! I pulled on the rope as fast as I could. And she pulled me out to see my Arm was bitten off. I had an insane amount of blood loss. She put pressure on it as fast and hard as she could. “ AAAAAAAAAAAH” I roared. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” “MY ARM” I CRIED. They carried me to a nearby shelter they found.  The Bad part was the shelter was an old van at a scrap yard. Maria went out to get food but instantly came back in the van. WOLVES!!! “We need to get out of here!” I yelled.

She Threw an arm she had put together. I started to wonder how she was building these things. There was no time to waste. I grabbed my new arm and put it on. (with caution). I then proceeded to run at the door but the dogs were outside, that's when I realized they weren't dogs, they were demons… Fire and everything, I had no choice but to climb out the top. When I got up I saw no way out. They trapped me.

Chapter 6: The Arm

We all ran in the direction of the exit, except for me. I couldn't run so I was trapped. But knowing my luck I would somehow survive, well that's usually what happens but for now I wasn’t sure. My arm had stopped bleeding by now and I heard the wolves breaking into the van. I look around for something to help. Luckily Maria had left the prosthetic arm in the van. It was a thick silver metal with carbon fiber on it. Fully working I saw about one hundred demons, and way too many aliens. “How did they get out?” I thought to myself. They clawed the van and got inside. I looked around for an exit but there was no escape. But what if there was… oh nope i'm done for. Suddenly I hear a huge screech and all the dogs run away. Luckily the others realised I wasn't there and came to the rescue. There was a huge dragon, on top of the dragon was a girl. She had dark brown long hair, tied in a ponytail. She hopped off the dragon and came over to see if I was ok. “Yes.” I said looking at beautiful eyes. She looked at my arm.

 “What Happened?” she said. I proceed to tell her what happened. After I finished the explanation we went off to the others. “Are you ok?” Maria said. “Are you ok? JAMES!! JAAAMES! WAKE UP! Please James, Don’t leave us...

I woke up to everyone staring at me. “YES!” Said the girl. I sat up and looked around. “What happened?” I said with confusion. “We kind of forgot about-” “AHHHH!” I screamed. There was a sudden rush of immense pain all over me.”Yeah we thought we would get to that.” The girl said. “MY BODY IS RED AND BURNED!!” I screamed. “Acid…” Brandon said

Chapter 7: The Girl 

After a few hours I calmed down. “You Ok?” The girl asked. “Yeah” I muttered. She hugged me. “AHHHH F**k!!” I Screamed in pain. “Sorry, Sorry…” She said. After about a week in the scrap yard. Suddenly A ripple through the sky, I got out of the van and looked up. There was a ship in the sky. Pbpbpb Pbpb. A jet fighter started to shoot at the ship. A little blue capsule fell out of the ship. It landed about 1k east from us. I got everyone up, and we walked to the crash site. There was a tiny crater where the capsule landed. We got closer and I went to pick it up. As soon as I touched it the capsule exploded, blowing green goop everywhere. It only got on me. It stung more than the acid. But this time felt good. It felt good. It felt GOOD! That was the only thing I was thinking when it happened. We all woke up in the city. “How did we get here?” The girl said. My fists were glowing dark blue. Then I was back where we were before. “HUH!?!?!?!?!” I said with confusion. 

I sat there for a second. Then I got up and was thinking about how to get back to the others. As I thought about it I realized I probably won't. Then my fists went a darker blue almost purple, and I was back. “James! Your back.'' Maria. “OH MY GOD! WHAT JUST HAPPENED?” I screamed. Everyone went silent. “What?” I said. They started running. That's when I realized, I was glowing Dark purple. I had told them to stop running but they didn't. All of a sudden   I fell to the ground. I saw them coming back to me. They saw me in the fetal position. But something wasn't right. I was glitching and I teleported behind them. They got scared and someone threw an axe at me. I stopped it with my bare hands. I looked at Brandon and powered up my attack. I threw it. 

The girl jumped in front of the axe stopping it from hitting Brandon. I ran faster than the speed of sound. I held her in my hands. I took the axe out of her chest. With her final breath she whispered… “I-I-I Love y-y*uhh*. “NOOOOOO!!!” I screamed. I felt tears in my eyes as she drifted away. “I Love You Too.” I whimpered. I started to cry because I had feelings for her and she sacrificed her life for her friend. I looked up and everyone walked away in anger. I was left there on my knees crying at the sight of what I just did. The girl was in my arms and my tears were dropping onto her body. I heard her in my mind saying my name. I stood up with her still in my arms and I tried my hardest to believe I could fly. Eventually I felt the ground getting lighter and I opened my eyes to see that it was working. I took her to my house and I lay her on my bed. I went and got some food and some water. Afterwards I went to my room and saw her in a different position. She was lying on her side. 

Mufti Day

Today is mufti day, and most of the kids are in mufti. Some of the kids are not wearing mufti because they forgot. At the start of the day me and my friends were playing on the playground. We came inside to the surprise of no handwriting. We sat down and listened to nogo. Then we got to decide what work we wanted to do. Then we played Kahoot and I came 15th. Then we went out to play on the field. Then we came inside and we did a quizlet. I won the whole game 1 time. first time a 5 sec penalty, then a 10 sec penalty and the a 15 and we won every time. Then we went out the field again. and then we went to play. the we came back and did our blogging. 

Minecraft

In minecraft we have been doing two tasks. The bring your name to life challenge. and the tiny house challenge. In the tiny house challenge, the perimeter of the house has to be 40m or less. It was a hard challenge because we had to calculate how large the perimeter was. I decided yo not just do a square or rectangle house. I did a nicely shaped house. It had two storys and two bedrooms. I had a bathroom and a kitchen. It also had a table. Outside it had a treehouse. there is not much in the tree house as I have not finished. There is a pond that was supposed to have fish in it but Elizabeth removed animals. the house is lighted with redstone torches. I would have had redstone lamps on the roof with daylight sensors, I did not have enough time to do it though. For my name as you can see I made the different biomes. The last biome was the end. I also had little nether portals going in and out of the nether. my letters also link at the bottom. I was originally going to make my name like the Hollywood sign but with flying cars and it would be on a jet propelled platform for everyone to see. But sadly it did not work as it was to hard to do and also I was not very good at building. These are my photos, some were took in the day and some in night.

I could not find the inside images. (There wasn't much anyway.)

Literacy

In literacy we've been doing visual images and we have been writing down what we see in the picture we have  been visualising images and watching what happens looking very closely at all the details.  we have written down paragraphs for every image and we have talked about an hour paragraphs what has happened before during and after the image the images are usually people doing stuff.  for example there is a story of this little girl and she has a magic carpet. just found out that she has this carpet and it's late at night she has a dog. 

Maths-Circumference

 In Maths we are doing area. We are currently learning to find the area of a shape. Let's start with a rectangle, If the length is 3.142 and the width is 7.85= 24.6647. So the area of the rectangle are 24.6647.  Now for the  circumference of a circle. if you have the circle and you look at the diameter then half that end times that half by itself so say for example the radius is 4 you'll have to times 4 by 4 and that will equal 16 full stop so then the circumference of the circle is 16. And now we're going to work on a triangle if you have a triangle and the height is 16 and the Is 10 then  you multiply 16 by 10 making that 160 so that would be the area of a normal square but because you're doing a triangle you'll have to just half it making that 80. So the area of a triangle if you had the measurements as 16 and 10 the area would be 80.  

Writing, 3 Storys

 I have been writing story's at the start of literacy. We have done 3 story's so far. These are mine

1. Drop Off: The Father grasped her tight in his arms, “Don’t leave me!” the girl cried. “I need you dad.” the little girl held him as tight as she could, crying and hold him. “It will be ok.” He said. He loosened her arm and walk towards the officer. “Come With Me!” The officer yelled. The father walked to the officer and got cuffed up. He got in the car and they drove off to the station. The girl was left with her aunt.

2. Memories: The woman was walking her dog in the forest. It was a cold morning and she thought it would be a good idea to take her dog on a stroll through the forest, She was looking at the carved heart in the tree she did when she was younger. She was thinking of the memories she had with her childhood friends. She also thought about the lost friend that she loved. She was there when they died. She finishes her walk and steps into her house, she makes a coffee and grooms her dog.

3. Magic Carpet: Dear diary, It was 8:37 on a Tuesday night. I was going to bed but I needed a drink of water, I got up and walked out of my room, I tried not to trip on the toys on the way out. I walked down the stairs through the lounge and into the kitchen. Then I opened the cupboard and got out a glass. The water rushing out the tap was so loud. I turned off the tap and took a sip. Then I started walking back to my room. Out of the corner of my eye i saw something moving. I assumed it was my dog and started walking again. Then I saw my dog was down at my feet. I stopped walking. I looked down the hallway. There was a man. I ran as fast as I could up the stairs and to my door, trying not to spill my drink. If there was no one there mom and dad would get angry if I spilled my water on the ground. I opened the door to my room and ran to my bed. But on the way I tripped over my toys while concentrating on my drink. I fell on my mat. I tried to get up but I was floating. “WHAT THE FLIP?” I screamed. The carpet smashed through my window and flew over the town. “AHHHHH!” I screamed.

As you can see, they are just short story's.

Divisibility Rules

 The divisibility rules are quite easy. 2,3,5,9,10 

Lets start with 2. the rules for 2 are easy, if a number ends with an even number or a 0 it is divisible by 2. 

Now 5, if the number ends in 5 or 0 it is divisible by 5. 

A number is divisible by 10 if it ends in 0. 

now 3, if you have a number like 2,348, add all the number so. 2+3+4+8=17, you can't divide 17 by 3 so its not divisible by 3, but if you have 3,627 3+6+2+7= 18 so it is divisible by 3. 

Now 9, It's exactly the same as 3. all you do is divide by 9.

Maths Again

In Sharon's maths class I am level 4 maths witch is the best in my class I think. I can do my times tables up to 11 pretty well, just 6x8 and 6x9 around that is hard for me. but I can do alot of things pretty easy, like rounding, angles and division.

June 20th, 2010 Chicago, Illinois 6:37pm: Malachi Robertson was walking home from his friends house after school, he felt chills all through his body like he was in a horror movie. He was alone in the dim light. He turned down the alley for a shortcut only to see a man at the end, he squinted his eyes to see the man he was old and homeless. He asked Malachi to go with him, Malachi said “NO!” and ran as fast as he could away from the man, he saw his dad getting out of his car at the end of the street he was on and yelled out to him. “DAD DAD HELP HE’S CHASING ME!” Screamed Malachi. His dad ran to him and grabbed Malachi’s hand and ran to the house…

His house was the nicest one on the street. He got inside quaking and scared, his mom came in the foyer and comforted him. Malachi went to his room, turned on the light, closed the curtains, threw his bag on the floor and sat on his bed. His Xbox controller was on his bed, he picked it up and started playing. After 2 hours he felt tired and went to bed, but first he had to get some water and close the curtains. Malachi lives next to a forest so he likes to explore it. He grabbed some water, looked at the forest and finished his water. He went to put it down, saw something in the woods, he looked again and then put his drink down. He closed the other curtains first and the just as he closed the last one he saw it again… he opened them again and a 40 ft siren with slobbery sharp and twisted mouths. Malachi closed the curtans and ran to his room with terror. His mom and dad ran in and asked what happened… and got horrorfied by their dead son, chest ripped open and face torn apart.

Persuasive Writing

Why I should get a job. I want to get a job so I don't have to ask my parents for money, I also want to help people by walking their dogs. I think if we all walked dogs there would be no point in walking dogs. So thats why im keeping it a secret. I have a plan, if I walk five peoples dogs twice a week i can make more money. But the thing is, if I want to earn more I have to walk more dogs. And along the lines im pretty sure I would have to walk some big dogs. So i'm limiting the dogs to be 15kg’s and under, because im only 12 and I want to stay intact. I think if we all get better jobs we could save the environment. Eg. going door to door handing out no circular news paper signs. And picking up rubbish in christchurch. Also I love dogs and cats so that's why I want to walk them.

My Pascall Snifter/Pineapple lumps Review

I love both of them but I think there are some things to say. For a start, pineapple lumps taste strange at the start but after a while they taste great. Of coure they are the original.  Snifter lumps are a nice textured creamy chocolate coating with a perfectly balanced mint taste. They both taste great but I have to say that pineapple lumps are better. Tell me what you think.

My CV

In our class we are applying ourselves to leadership roles, we have to make a cv to say who we are what we want to do and why. We also have to say what schools we have been to. This is my cv and as you can see I would like to be apart of the RACE team. The RACE team is a group of people who do random act of creativity. I really like drawing, so I'm signing up for that. other people might sign up for arts and craft.

Space

Drifting, Drifting through space. Imagine your in a spaceship 3,000,000 light years away from earth. It's dead silent and you're all alone… you know your running out of time, oxegen and the hope of being found. You've realized you're going to die. The thought doesn't bother you but you know deep down inside your scared. You have approximately one hour until you die. You start thinking of ways to get out, that's when you remember the things they told you in training. Pull, twist and release. You float over to the capsule and you pull, twist, and RELEASE.
